This is the second book in a series of four books about four friends two of whom are sisters. It takes place in the Texas Oklahoma Indian Territor.y. If you like a book that is fun and light-hearted this is a book and series for you. The more books I read of Carolyn Brown the more I love them.

This story has both Violet and Orrin wishing for someone besides each other - someone they can trust more than they feel they can trust each other. It seems like a safe wish. They haven't seen each other in years. Then they get thrown together far more than they would ever have imagined.This historical romance by Carolyn Brown is part of a very enjoyable series but is definitely NOT a cookie-cutter story. Ms. Brown brings a lot of thoughtful feeling into her story and shows the depth of strength in her heroine as she stands up to the harsh judgment of the townsfolk. The hero is handsome, willful, talented, and worthy of Violet's love. In all it is an excellent story and I recommend it to anyone who likes historical romance.

Fine period romance from Carolyn Brown, as always, doesn't disappoint. You are hooked from first chapter to the final. Strong characters, sense of community that create a great storyline. Great addition to my Kindle library.

I liked this story a lot, but I didn't love it. It was a very well done story with a fast pace and full of surprises, but for some reason I just felt this disconnect with the characters. It happens sometimes, so I won't fault the author.

I had a really, really, hard time getting into this story. I read a couple of chapters and stopped, thinking it was so predictable I couldn't stand it. Obviously, the pining widow would eventually be reunited with her childhood love. Finally, I found I had nothing else downloaded to read and picked it back up where I left off. What a surprise it turned out to be, fast paced, unpredictable, and totally entertaining.

Well I do believe this book is part of a series and I am reading it out of order. I'm going to have to find the books that go with this one and read the rest of them to put them all together. I love Carolyn Brown. She is an awesome author.

I thought this book was a lot of fun. I adored the main characters and I found even the minor character really fun. It was a sweet book, well written. It certainly didn't need to get bogged down with sexual details as it was understood, and truly didn't nothing to move the story along. I will be reading Carolyn Brown's books in the future because I find them a refreshing and fun read.

A very good read. I had trouble putting it down. Two people who loved once are brought back together accidentally through tragedy. It had some suspenseful moments throughout and was basically about good people coming together to help each other in need. And of course true love always wins out.
